BACKGROUND
Ted Williams is a classically trained
pianist/singer with a lifetime of professional experience in the
fine arts. He has studied piano, voice, ballroom dancing, and
acting with some of the top teachers in the country. He
studied Jazz in High School and went on to play with some of the
best Wedding/Club, Jazz/Rock Bands in the Tri-State Area and Piano
Bars all over Connecticut including: Apricots,
The Yankee Silversmith, and Main and
Hopewell. He has performed with the
Connecticut Opera Chorus and leads in
Musical Theatre and Shakespearean
Drama. At present he teaches over 40 piano and voice
students, many of whom have gone on to Allstate competitions and
some of the nations finest music schools including
HARTT and CARNEGIE
MELLON. Since 1997 he has studied Ballroom
Dancing learning all the most popular steps including: Swing,
Hustle, Waltz, Foxtrot, Rumba, Tango, Cha Cha, Salsa, Merengue,
Samba, West Coast Swing, Quick Step and Samba.
Ted is the only DJ with professional training and
experience as a musician, actor and ballroom dancer. This
means that he can help a Bride and Groom or Host and Hostess plan
the wedding or event from Classical Music at the Ceremony (Bach,
Handel, Mozart, Pachelbel, etc.) to Jazz/Rock/Folk at the cocktail
hour/dinnertime (Frank Sinatra, Miles Davis, Billy Joel, Maroon 5,
The Beatles, Train, etc) to the best dance music ever recorded from
the 1930's to the present day including all styles: Big Band
Swing, Elvis and the 1950's, Classic Rock, Motown, Funk, Disco,
1980's, Hard Rock, Country Western and the new music R&B and Hip
Hop; and do an outstanding job of running your event from start to
finish. In addition he can provide live piano music for the
ceremony/cocktail or dinner hour if so desired...or a sing along
piano bar at the end of the night!
EQUIPMENT AND
PRESENTATION
Ted uses only top of the line Numark
Mixers, Sennheiser Microphones and Lyric Opera and JBL Speakers with
a professional light show. For large events and weddings he
can provide four speakers that produce an exciting wall of
"Surroundsound" for your listening and dancing pleasure. The
Bride and Groom or Host and Hostess are always in charge of the
volume. In general guests prefer the music softer for the
ceremony, cocktail and dinner hour and louder for dancing.
